The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd is proud to present Better Practice Launceston. The conference will address how the aged care sector can improve the quality of care for residents in a financially constrained environment.

Better Practice Launceston will be held on 25 and 26 June 2009.

There are four main themes addressed in the plenary sessions:

  • Improving resident care and lifestyle through person-centred care
  • Investing to improve quality and control costs
  • Improving performance through monitoring and quality indicators
  • Improving the organisation through effective leadership

Workshop on person-centred care

  • This interactive and practical three hour workshop on person-centred care will unpack the term ‘person-centred care’ by contextualizing the theory into practical application. It will help you develop a logical and dynamic case for introducing person-centred care to key stakeholders in your organisation.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston is only a short stroll from the main central business district, shopping mall in Brisbane Street and Yorktown Square.  Also within easy walking distance from the hotel are local tourist attractions such as City Park, Launceston’s beautiful public gardens and Japanese Macaque monkeys, the Tasmanian Design Centre, the Queen Victoria Museum, Princess Theatre and Aurora Stadium - the home of AFL in Tasmania - and also the site of the Royal Launceston Show.

Accommodation
Special accommodation rates have been negotiated for delegates at the Hotel Grand Chancellor. The standard room rate is $166.50 per room per night including breakfast for one guest in the hotel restaurant. Participants should book accommodation directly with the hotel by phoning (03) 6334 3434 and quoting ‘Better Practice 2009’ as the booking reference.

Parking
Parking facilities are available across from the hotel for a flat rate of $5 per day. Off-street parking is also available in the streets surrounding the venue.

Meals
The events organisers recognise that some delegates may have special dietary needs. Please advise either via the registration form or in writing if you would like us to make alternative arrangements on your behalf.

Please Note: Dietary requirements received less than 72 hours prior to the event cannot be guaranteed. Kosher meals may be available, however please note this will be at an additional cost.

The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd does not accept responsibility for personal accidents, injuries, theft and/or damage to the property of participants. Travel insurance is recommended for travel within Australia.

Registration for the event will be available in the Pre-function lobby from 8am each day.

Separate registrations
Each person must be separately registered for one or both days, no shared registrations are permitted.
