Assessor Development Program (ADP)

QAIT workshops have been replaced by the Assessor Development Program (ADP). Workshops will continue but in a slightly different format and there will be other opportunities developed to provide ongoing training for our assessor workforce.

ADP workshops

In 2010 there will be ADP workshops in March, May July, September and November.

The workshops in July and September will be full day workshops. The remaining workshops in March, May and November will be four hours. In Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the four hour workshops will be run twice to accommodate smaller group size.

All workshops will require assessors to complete some pre-reading, that will be sent to all assessors via email two weeks before each workshop.

March 2010 (four hours)

This ADP workshop will address three topics:

  • Incident reporting,
  • serious risk and
  • critical events.

Pre-reading was emailed to assessors on 16 February. There is no time allocated during the workshop to read this material.

Learning outcomes will include:

  • Define and differentiate between an incident, critical event and serious risk
  • Demonstrate correct procedure for identifying and reporting serious risk
  • Demonstrate skill development or enhancement in evidence gathering and reporting related to incidents, critical events and serious risk.
  • Identify personal strategies for dealing with emotional responses to critical events and serious risk
