Accreditation fees

Is there a fee for accreditation?
There is no fee payable for homes with less than 20 beds allocated. The Department of Health and Ageing fully subsidises the accreditation fees for these homes. All other homes pay a fee depending on the number of beds.

Accreditation application fees are adjusted on 1 July each year in line with the Consumer Price Index.

There is no GST payable on the fees. Consequently we do not issue receipts or invoices for accreditation fees paid.

The approved provider must pay for all allocated places whether occupied or not.

There is also a fee for commencing homes.

How is the fee calculated?
The calculation of the correct fee is set out in Section 2.6 of the Accreditation Grant Principles 1999.

Accreditation fees are described in the fee schedule in the Accreditation Grant Principles 1999. The approved provider must pay for all allocated places whether occupied or not.

No GST is payable on fees. The following information is based on current fees as at 1 July 2010.

2   If there are 20 allocated residential care places, the fee is $1,815.

How can fees be paid?
Payment can be made by electronic funds transfer or by cheque. Whichever form of payment chosen, payments must reference the residential aged care home name/s and RACS id (Residential Aged Care Service). The RACS id is the unique identification number as allocated by the Department of Health and Ageing.

If paying by electronic funds transfer (EFT), please note the following:

Organisation: Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd
Bank: Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Branch: Parramatta
BSB Number: 062441
Bank Account Number: 10048559

If paying by EFT, the RACS id should be used as the reference in forwarding payment to our account so we can match the electronic payment to each residential aged care home. It would be helpful if the name of the home can also be included if there is sufficient space. The reference field will appear on our bank statement.

As the RACS id is a unique identifier of each residential aged care home, the payment can be quickly and accurately allocated to the correct residential aged care home.

Where a single EFT is being made for multiple residential aged care homes and there is insufficient space to list all RACS ids in the reference field, please note “Separate remittance advice sent dd/mm/yy” in the EFT reference field and fax a remittance advice to “Attn: Sayuri – Finance on (02) 9633 2422" with the following details:-

Name of approved provider
Date of EFT transaction
RACS ID Name of home Fee paid
    $
    $
    $
  Total Fees: $

Cheques should be made payable to the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd with the RACS id and fee printed on the reverse of the cheque. The inclusion of the RACS id and fee enables us to match the cheques with each residential aged care home.

Similarly, if there is insufficient space to list multiple RACS ids, please attach a remittance advice as per the example above.
