Redland Bay Nursing Home, Qld

Quality Management System

An ISO Quality Management System, recognised throughout the world, was introduced into the facility in 1997 because we believed it offered a more efficient, transparent and accountable way of managing an aged care facility.

Redland Bay Nursing Home is home to 40 high-care residents and employs 60 staff. Some of the benefits gained for residents and stakeholders include:

  • Keeping us up-to-date and ensuring compliance with all regulations etc
  • Objectively demonstrating continuous quality improvements in all aspects of the care and services
  • Empowering residents, relatives and staff to truly collaborate in the care and provision of services
  • Improving communication and developing a ‘resident-focused’ team with a strong commitment to achieving quality outcomes
  • Providing us with information about what we do, how we do it, and the impact our care practices and services have on residents and other stakeholders.

The mature ISO system allows key personnel to have confidence that the system and processes will continue without their direct intervention, but will alert them to any potential concerns. This allows them to devote more time, and creative energy, to ensuring optimal quality of life for all our residents.
