Accreditation fees (for homes)

Is there a fee for accreditation?

There is no fee payable in respect of homes with 19 or fewer beds allocated. The Australian Department of Health and Ageing fully subsidises the accreditation fees for these homes. All other homes pay a fee on a sliding scale.

Accreditation application fees are adjusted on 1 July each year in line with the consumer price index (CPI). There is no GST payable on the fees. Consequently the Agency does not issue receipts or invoices for accreditation fees paid.

Payment can be made by electronic funds transfer or by cheque. Whichever form of payment is chosen, the payment must be made per individual home and the home's RACS ID must be quoted as the reference. The RACS ID is the four digit Residential Aged Care Service Identification Number allocated to the home by the Department of Health and Ageing. The RACS ID should be the bank payment reference number used in forwarding payment to the Agency's account. The use of the RACS ID enables the Agency to match the electronic payment with the individual home. Do not include multiple home's application fees in the same electronic funds transfer.

If paying by electronic funds transfer, the following Agency information is required:
Bank: Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Branch: Parramatta
BSB Number: 062441
Account Number: 10048559

Cheques should be made payable to The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd with the RACS ID printed on the reverse of the cheque. The inclusion of the RACS ID enables the Agency to match the cheques with each home.

The provider must pay for all allocated places whether occupied or not.

How is the fee calculated?

The calculation of the correct fee is set out in Section 2.6 of the Accreditation Grant Principles, 1999 (as amended in 2004).

Fees for application for for accreditation submitted and received by the Agency on or after 1 July 2008.
